Layer the linens

Our master bedroom is slowly starting to feel like home. Little by little it’s coming together one piece of furniture at a time. The first thing I always do in a new home is make the bed. I love to create a warm, cozy place to land at the end of each day. I love a freshly made bed, with crisp sheets, tight tucks, and the smell of fresh linen. I wanted warm moody colors and so that’s what brought me to the browns and beiges! I felt like the white bed allowed me to go really dark on pillows, fabrics and furniture. I’m thinking I might be really brave and do a bold color behind that white headboard. I think I can afford a dark color with all those pretty windows. I think I’ll still have plenty of light. I’ve also been toying with a mixture of shiplap walls and 2/3 of the wall with trim. I have so many ideas and I’m allowing my brain to play with whatever ideas it has. No trends to follow, no rules and best of all no worry about resale! I’ll keep you posted as this room evolves. But for now I’ll share all the sources so far….especially that yummy layered bed!

Hello, World!

Don’t be afraid to splurge on bedding. You literally sleep there every single night! It feels good to sleep in a place that feels special, that feels clean, that feels cozy and warm and inviting! I find myself wandering in to order groceries while lying on my bed or answer a text in one of the chairs by the table and window. I am falling in love with this house one design change at a time! Thanks for following along.
